Applications & the Economy
These days, it seems like every time I turn around I am being asked how the economy is affecting Three Pillar Software. I'm cautiously optimistic as I answer, we have more business and a larger pipeline now than we have ever had. To some degree, that may simply be a result of our new focus on developing business. Until just a few months ago, Three Pillar had grown from myself to our current state almost exclusively through being opportunistic.
I have a second theory as well. Along with our focus on developing business, we have also been focusing on developing a strategy and clear message. We have been looking at buying habits and our own expertise in order to determine exactly what our niche is. When all is said and done, Three Pillar specializes in Applications. Whatever the phase of the application life cycle you are in - Renewal, Optimization, Development, Maintenance, or total Outsourcing, Three Pillar excels in driving significant value from your application. We deliver tangible results in all phases. This is a message that rings true during an economic slow down. Too often consultancies focus on developing a new solution when the correct solution is to extract value from existing infrastructure. Too many people are focused on a single project rather than solving the right problem.
Corporations don't stop buying in economic slow downs, the start buying smart. Our renewed focus on solving the right problem and leveraging existing infrastructure when appropriate is resonating with the market. Look for Three Pillar to roll out this new message, clarifying our services and differentiators, in the month of November.
